Heavy Sleeper

Buck and I have been going on nightly walks for the past three weeks and we love it. Well, at least I love it.

Anyway, about 4 days ago we met a friendly dog on our walk and he followed us home.
The dog had a collar, but no tags. We felt bad leaving it outside by itself, Watson St. is pretty busy. I kept telling Buck that we couldn't leave it outside to get hit. So... we sat outside to keep it company while we tried to figure out what to do. A lady passed our house and the dog took off after her. She asked us if it was our dog. We said no, it followed us home. It continued to follow her.

Phew, at least we didn't have to worry about it anymore.

I got up for work at 5:30 in the morning and headed out to my car. There it was sprawled out on the sidewalk. I couldn't believe it. I honestly didn't know if it was dead or if it was napping. I know that sounds odd, but who would hit a dog and throw it in the middle of the sidewalk. There was no blood and no sign of injury. So, I figured it was sleeping. For some odd reason I chuckled and then got in my car and was off to work. When I got home 8 hours later, it was gone. Buck had no clue when I asked him about it. So, again I figured it was just sleeping.

Yesterday, my neighbor asked me if I heard a dog crying a couple of nights ago. She said it was yelping all night. No, I don't remember hearing a thing. I must be a heavy sleeper!
Poor Puppy!
